The 20th anniversary rededication ceremony for the Salem Witch Trials Memorial was incredible. The speakers were inspiring and it was amazing to be able to meet some of the descendants of the innocents that were falsely accused and then executed on charges of Witchcraft during the Salem Witch trials in 1692. We can’t go back in time to change what happened during the Witch trials, but we can do our best to honor the victims and to remember their stories.
All of the innocents that were executed on charges of Witchcraft showed extraordinary courage & strength. They remained true to themselves & their beliefs. I asked Patty Osmer, a descendant of Martha Carrier, if she had any message she would like to communicate. She offered some excellent advice: “Stand up for what you believe in no matter what.”
